Casey’s interest in politics began with and grew over the course of a series of major events during the last decade.
One of the reasons he is so passionate about his beliefs is the NHS. Casey believes that the NHS is our most precious institution, he wants the NHS receive the resources it needs along with the effort and time that it so desperately requires to ramp up capacity and modernise. He is absolutely passionate about protecting the NHS and its staff who save lives every single day.
Casey wants people who feel left behind, ignored and without a voice to be heard and part of the conversation. He wants to hear from the quietest voice in the room, the voices often left feeling ignored or unheard. Politics is at its best when all voices are heard and everyone gets their say.
Casey had his first heart operation in 2013, The NHS was there for him when he needed it the most, and that why it is hugely important to him and central to his beliefs. From the Scottish referendum to the 2016 EU Referendum and four general elections over the decade, it was a decade to remember. People who were ignored for far too long by many, spoke out, made their voices heard and refused to be ignored.
Casey began studying Politics for A level, during a time of significant political upheaval.
Shortly after the 2017 general election, he became a member of the Conservative & Unionist Party. Casey was inspired by the leadership & devotion to selfless public service demonstrated by Theresa May. He became a member after supporting the party for years and watching the then Prime Minister devote herself to public service, putting the country first.
Casey wants to see a new kind of politics. A politics where the voices of everyone matter equally, where abuse and hate have no place, the ladder is held down for the next generation and the quietest voices matter.
After a gap year, Casey began studying Politics and International Relations in his home town university. He wanted to help create change for students, so he spent his time at university serving as a Course Representative, as a society committee member and a Senior Representative.
Casey was selected for the Reading Borough Council Elections in 2022, as the Conservative candidate for Tilehurst. He thought that it was time residents got a better deal from their council. Despite not being successful In the election, he fought for Tilehurst and Reading so that there was a real opposition and a council that delivered for every resident.
In 2022 Casey graduated from his hometown university, completing his degree in Politics & International Relations.
Casey was re-selected to contest the Reading Borough Council Local Elections 2023 as the Conservative candidate for Tilehurst.
Casey consistently holds those elected to account, believing good governance is only possible when power faces strong opposition. Despite not being successfully elected, he has been consistently holding Reading Council accountable for its failures, including the traffic chaos under its watch. He stood as the Conservative candidate for Coley in the Local Elections in 2024.
He brings the same ethos to his own party. Casey believes in holding his own side to the same high standard expected of others and is fighting for the soul of the Conservative Party - one that protects LGBT+ people and puts service at its core.
Casey regularly appears in the media, appearing on BBC News, LBC, Channel 4 and other outlets, commenting on the latest political issues.
